As a licensed mental health counselor certified by the Equine Gestalt Psychotherapy Institute, I guide individuals toward self-discovery and growth in a serene, nature-filled setting. Sessions focus on body, energy awareness, and mindfulness. Healing sessions help you connect with yourself and the natural world through talk therapy, interacting or riding the horse, walking in the woods, or engaging in experiential therapy like role-play, art, or music. Sessions are tailored to meet your needs. Whether addressing past trauma or deepening self-awareness, building confidence nature-based approach welcomes clients of all ages—adults, children, and teenagers—offering a nurturing space for healing and personal growth.

Connect to your body and feel energy flowing. It is the starting point to achieve healing. Healed by Horses provides 6 ways of therapy approaches (1-hour session). Here’s how different types of sessions may look within this therapy:

  1. Equine Groundwork Session: The groundwork with the horse is a powerful way to connect with your body and release what is not needed. By interacting with the horse on the ground, you begin to recognize your emotions and how you react in relationships, and how emotions and past experiences are mirrored through the horse’s behavior. Through mindfulness, body awareness, and connection, you can begin to release trauma and shift these patterns, improving interactions with others.

  2. Equine Riding Session: In this session, you work on connecting with the horse’s energy while riding. The focus is on body awareness, balance, trust, and understanding how to use energy for healing. This helps you gain confidence and understand how this connection can be applied to your life and relationships.

  3. Equine Group Session: The work with the horse is done in a group setting where participants learn to interact, communicate, resolve conflicts, and build trust with each other. The goal is to foster healthy relationships and better communication.

  4. Nature-Based Therapy Session: It is all about connecting with the natural world in a way that suits you. Whether you want to walk barefoot in the woods, play music, paint, or observe animals, the experience is tailored to your needs in the moment. The focus is on tuning into the environment around you, fostering mindfulness, emotional processing, and personal growth through the freedom to engage with nature in your own unique way.

  5. Gestalt Equine Online Session: It takes place outdoors in nature. Through video, you’ll connect with the horse’s energy, practice mindfulness, and explore your emotional connections and body awareness. Even though it’s remote, the session still brings the same Gestalt principles into play, allowing you to experience healing, self-awareness, and personal growth from wherever you are. This approach offers flexibility and comfort when in-person participation is not possible.

  6. Online Therapy Session: It will take place in a safe and comfortable home setting, where the focus will be on mindfulness, body, and mind awareness. Using Gestalt approaches, we’ll incorporate role play to explore emotions and behaviors, fostering personal growth and healing. This session allows for deep self-awareness and connection, even in the comfort of your own space.

  1. Fluid Approach to Therapy:

    Throughout the therapeutic process, clients may experience a variety of sessions based on their evolving needs. A therapist will guide the client in choosing what type of session is most appropriate at any given time. For example, a client may need to build confidence through a riding session, while at another time, they might need to engage in groundwork to develop body awareness and energy work. Some clients might benefit from immersing themselves in nature to explore their emotions, while others may need the support of a group session to improve social skills and relationships.

    The therapist will always work with the client to determine what approach will best support their healing process in that moment, allowing for a personalized, holistic therapy experience.

  • This connection in nature cultivates an awareness of sensations and teaches feel safe in the body while exploring memories, thoughts, and emotions.
